2pm - 5pm The Performance of the Self – The biggest clothes swap ever! Fashion show and photo shoot included.

For centuries clothes have played a central part in expressing cultural and social identity.

In our Western world clothing is vital to express our individuality, but also our belonging to a group.

What happens when you suddenly wear clothes, which do not quite express who you are? What happens when you wear clothes that make you part of a group you do not want to be part of? When your character changes over the years is a change of clothes unevitable? Do clothes really say that much about a person? Do you need your clothes to perform your 'self'? Do colours express your mood?

For our COAS event 'Identity matters' we will attempt to set up the biggest clothes swap ever!

We need you and your clothes. So if you always wanted to get rid of that red wooly jumper, that has been lying in the far corner of your wardrobe now is the time!

Shed your skin and get rid of clothes, which you had hanging around for years. Let somebody else try on your old dresses, while you pick up a new piece for yourself, which maybe says exactly who you are.

Let's swap our clothes and piece together old and new identities.
